Ballroom dancing

This is a story that was relayed to us by two young american couple from Orlando, Florida while waiting for hours at the airport somewhere in France, because of a false alarm terrorist attack last year. The young couple was really very nice to talk with and even did some dancing while telling us the story. The story was about their vacation in Spain. I will make the story short because it is a bit longer. While staying there, their wallets with their credit cards and even passports and some new clothes they just bought-were stolen from them while they sat outside a restaurant while waiting for their third taxi ride after the first taxi broke down in highway and the second one after that. It even rained during that day. After reporting everything to the police they walked and walked and - They have no place to go because their money was gone and there were only some bills left on his pocket. Luckily they have met a man who helped and gave them some money to go to the US Embassy the next day. They have spent the night in a 24 hours restaurant pub. The next day, they were able to talk with a consulate, made their calls to the credit cards companies, the travel agencies and to their relatives. They were provided a place to stay while they were waiting for their new passports which they said will took at least 5 days. All the expenses they have to pay later of course. They thought they should earn some money during those five days and yet, they cannot even work. And then that evening, while walking in the city, they saw an ad about a dancing competition with cash prices for the winners. They have found some hope because they have been ballroom dancing back home with their folks. After some convincing words with the organizers, they got in. They don’t have the expensive clothes for dancing but she had this red polka dress that can be used for dancing and a high heeled shoes with long laces that was tied in her long legs. They guy had a blue long sleeves shirt matched with a chaleco and blue shoes and a nice shining shoes. The competition was on the evening the next day and all they had to do was practice all evening. And you know what? They have won the second prize. They went to the Embassy again the next day and surprisingly the passports was ready. They made a call with the police but they were not able to caught the thieves. The money was just enough to pay the hotel and other expenses. By the way, they were also wearing their sunglasses at the start of their dancing. It was funny they said because they wanted some more attention.

How I wished I am a dance instructor so that I can make this drawing step by step . Anyway, I had fun drawing this today while passing time on our second easter day after a heavy downpour coming from a park with friends and children.

Goodbye my lover

I like drawing people who are kissing. This is the third time I am posting another kissing couple. Enjoy!

Goodbye my lover by James Blunt

Did I disappoint you or let you down?Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won.So I took what's mine by eternal right.Took your soul out into the night. It may be over but it won't stop there,I am here for you if you'd only care. You touched my heart you touched my soul. You changed my life and all my goals. And love is blind and that I knew when,My heart was blinded by you.I've kissed your lips and held your head.Shared your dreams and shared your bed.I know you well, I know your smell.I've been addicted to you. Goodbye my lover.Goodbye my friend. You have been the one.You have been the one for me. I am a dreamer but when I wake,You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take. And as you move on, remember me,Remember us and all we used to beI've seen you cry, I've seen you smile.I've watched you sleeping for a while.I'd be the father of your child.I'd spend a lifetime with you.I know your fears and you know mine. We've had our doubts but now we're fine,And I love you, I swear that's true.I cannot live without you. Goodbye my lover.Goodbye my friend. You have been the one.You have been the one for me. And I still hold your hand in mine.In mine when I'm asleep. And I will bear my soul in time,When I'm kneeling at your feet.Goodbye my lover.Goodbye my friend. You have been the one.You have been the one for me.I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.

Sad Winnie

Many of you knew by now that I love Winnie the pooh-and I get sad when he is sad. Here he is sitting with his small friend bear and crying-not because he is already 80 years old but, because he is sick today. He's got spots on his skin. He doesn't want to go out today and he just stayed in a bit darker corner of his house.

fresh as spring

Last wednesday, I have been trying to create something out of the things I have collected and put it all together in a flat canvas. I was not satisfied with the outcome that I have removed some of the pieces (like stones and leaves and some pictures) and I thought I will repair it or do something else later. But you see, before I destroyed it, I took a picture of them and today I was surprised that it kinda' coincide with the idea of Inspire me Thursday's topic Vernal Equinox for this week. You would not want to see how it turned out but I am still planning to do something more with it-and yet, I would like to hear if you have some opinion and ideas that might help to make it more better in my own eyes.

By the way thanks for those who have left comments for my previous entry entitled Dynamic men. They wanted to tell you also that I just made them look handsome in my sketches(seems like they are telling me that I am not a good at drawing-would you agree?). well, jokers they are also.....

spotted dress

I miss spending Holy week back home although I am having a very quiet day over here. I am alone all day long and have time reflecting on a Good Friday like this. I am wishing you all a peaceful and wonderful day-

What can you say about my spotted dress? and by the way, go to home later and you will find a spotted.....

Here and here you can what I have done with the topics for the other friday challenges.

grateful

hello to all of you out there-thank you for visiting and even leaving comments in my site. i'll get back to all of you as soon as i can. some things to take care of. have a nice week all of you!

Termites

I know when they are there. They make some kind of sound that give you goose bumps. I have seen a lot of them flying around especially during the rainy season in the Philippines. We always turn off any light because a huge number of them will fly around. Here's a link about them.

Dynamic men

It will always start with a hello in the harbour in front of a view of different kinds of boat. The conversation will be about the weather, boats, boat building, prices, competitions, harbours, countries, sailors, magazines, boat shows, money, sailing clothes and shoes, techniques, boat yards and even sea sickness. I decided to do some quick sketch of their faces. G was a bit curious of what I was doing. And the conversation went on and on. And I asked, can I post this on my blog? D said, let’s talk about it over a cup of coffee, so we all went. The conversation never stops….After having had a cup of coffee, I asked them-don’t you have other topics aside from the sailing world? P smiled-let’s have some cakes-and I waved at the waiter- cakes over here please! The conversation continues..... At the end-A winked at me and said – of course you can but you have tell them that we are all single. Boy, was I glad and so I was ready to pay the bill when D said-the lady is not allowed to take care of that. I always do-he said and we all laughed.

I was glad I was inspired to do this series of face sketches. I have drawn their faces separately and put them all together in one file. This is just a quick sketch and I hope to make it better later on.

Nice topic in Inspire me Thursday.

Speed

I am not in my speedy self(ha). It has been more than a month since I stopped drawing almost everyday. I am also very tired today so I cannot really feel and touch that creative side of me. Anyway, I don't want to skip IF so I kept thinking and thinking what kind of experiences I had in relation with speed. The only thing that I can think of was about a dream that have haunted me for so many years until I got married. I have not told anyone about this dream, or maybe I had mentioned it with somebody and asked like it was not really my dream. I get so curious about dream interpretations but I cannot say I am so much of a believer.

My dream would always be the same for so many years and I have lost count of it. It would always begin with my surrounding moving so fast like I was in a time machine and the things surrounding me was all flying and moving. And then there would be wind and water and I will start running, but the thing was I cannot move from where I am. I cannot get anywhere. I ran and ran but I can feel the pressure in my body. It also seems that the place I want to be becomes farther and farther. And yet, none of what's happening in my surrounding was touching my body. I was kind of protected by something. I did not got scared because it keeps coming back(I am used already to having same dreams over and over again)but the fact, that I cannot move from where I am. That was scary for me. Anyway, it had stopped and I hope it will not come back again since I have thought about it now. Oh my! Do you think I had an exciting past?

This illustration is a digital collage combining an acrylic painting I have started but not finished together with a water colored painting(this one I have used before for another entry).

Like the mountains in springtime

Annie's Song by John Denver
Kindly click here for the music

You fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again
Let me give my life to you
Come let me love you
Come love me again

mother and daughter

The Valencia family was so happy that the sun was shining so brightly today, the second of April and the stork has finally landed. The father waited in the sala while waiting for his wife and daughter to come out of the bedroom. Finally, he heard their laughing and as he turned his head, he was surprised to see them in their bright colored dresses and standing like they were models. He can't help but ask them-don't you both had enough oranges for breakfast? They just smiled at him-each of them take his arms and said let's go and celebrate spring!
