Ballroom dancing

This is a story that was relayed to us by two young american couple from Orlando, Florida while waiting for hours at the airport somewhere in France, because of a false alarm terrorist attack last year. The young couple was really very nice to talk with and even did some dancing while telling us the story. The story was about their vacation in Spain. I will make the story short because it is a bit longer. While staying there, their wallets with their credit cards and even passports and some new clothes they just bought-were stolen from them while they sat outside a restaurant while waiting for their third taxi ride after the first taxi broke down in highway and the second one after that. It even rained during that day. After reporting everything to the police they walked and walked and - They have no place to go because their money was gone and there were only some bills left on his pocket. Luckily they have met a man who helped and gave them some money to go to the US Embassy the next day. They have spent the night in a 24 hours restaurant pub. The next day, they were able to talk with a consulate, made their calls to the credit cards companies, the travel agencies and to their relatives. They were provided a place to stay while they were waiting for their new passports which they said will took at least 5 days. All the expenses they have to pay later of course. They thought they should earn some money during those five days and yet, they cannot even work. And then that evening, while walking in the city, they saw an ad about a dancing competition with cash prices for the winners. They have found some hope because they have been ballroom dancing back home with their folks. After some convincing words with the organizers, they got in. They don’t have the expensive clothes for dancing but she had this red polka dress that can be used for dancing and a high heeled shoes with long laces that was tied in her long legs. They guy had a blue long sleeves shirt matched with a chaleco and blue shoes and a nice shining shoes. The competition was on the evening the next day and all they had to do was practice all evening. And you know what? They have won the second prize. They went to the Embassy again the next day and surprisingly the passports was ready. They made a call with the police but they were not able to caught the thieves. The money was just enough to pay the hotel and other expenses. By the way, they were also wearing their sunglasses at the start of their dancing. It was funny they said because they wanted some more attention.

How I wished I am a dance instructor so that I can make this drawing step by step . Anyway, I had fun drawing this today while passing time on our second easter day after a heavy downpour coming from a park with friends and children.

Oh I love the story too! I mean, that was a really dramatic vacation, but full of exciting adventures. If my money had been stolen, I wouldn't have known how to get it back by entering the ballroom dance competition!

You are like a story collector. There are so many interesting stories on your blog!
