Termites
I know when they are there. They make some kind of sound that give you goose bumps. I have seen a lot of them flying around especially during the rainy season in the Philippines. We always turn off any light because a huge number of them will fly around. Here's a link about them.

I don't like termites.....but your illustration of them is wonderful!
I think the motto on my personal coat of arms should be (from "Starship Troopers") "The only good bug is a DEAD bug!" Guess I would make a lousy Buddhist.
Wow, I don't have to hear them, I have goosebumps looking at this, really. They are beautiful in their ugliness. Very cool!
yay! i have my share of termite problems! guess its how they made old houses here.. must be a tasty wood feast for them! haaa.. well i had to tare down my full library once coz of 'em pests! they ate almost half the set of our encyclopedia! waaa!
but the way you drew them compels me to look at them in a different light.. hmm..
What's the sound like? I've heard a sound late at night in one wall in our house. Where we live the area is infested with termites - in the first few hot days each year you couldn't open your mouth outside without swallowing one, the air is so thick with them.
We need an aardvark!

Hey we have termites here too! They fly and crawl around before summer officially come. We do have to turn off the lights then!
