Tea
Every weekend since my mother in law died, we see to it that we invite my father in law for dinner. During the first month, I have invited him to dine with us everyday but, he decided every other day until weeks passed by and it became once a week. He said he can cope up already. I have so many different candle holders in our house and I see to it that I lighted them all everytime he comes. He was so delighted with the atmosphere and would always looked at each one of them. I would also light some incense(given to me by Richi) and he would always tells me that it smells good. He always enjoy dining with us. My husband would always cook the food and I will help him. After dinner would be my turn to offer dessert. I have learned to love baking since I got married and I always serve newly baked cake plus a wonderful tea that we partake in the sala while watching television.
I have tried capturing in my illustration what it looks like the teapot and cup with only the candles and television as our light.
Everytime, I would be so happy looking at him having a smile on his face while he was sitting comfortably on his chair eating cake, watching televsion and drinking his favorite tea. I should try capturing that moment and paint it one of this days. But for now, this is the only one I can offer all of you to see.

Olympics 2008
I forgot to tell that this is not my own artwork. I got it from the olympics site-just advertising it.
I am saving money for the next summer olympics in Beijing, China. Or maybe there are some people out there who can sponsor some artists(i should include myself in that-i am serious and desperate) Hello anyone out there?

Autumn in Springtime

feelin' good
I submitted this to Penelope's The Best Advice I Ever Got project.
When I was in my early twenties, I was lucky enough to have an Italian spiritual advicer who have became my friend, my guidance counselor, my boss and even as a second father to me. It was a time in my life that questions regarding my sexuality was building up. I was really grateful having someone who can understand and listen to me. He even shared to me all that he knows and learned from a lot of people that he has helped. We have talked a lot about it and I was enlightened and my questions were answered, at the end he gave one advice that I will not forget. He said" Be passionate, but don't be promiscuous. It was an advice that did not bothered me but was always hanging out to help me figure out when I am about to decide on something. Surprisingly, I realized I followed his advice.
I am not sure if my illustration was clear enough to describe that advice but I was just following my hand and heart when I was making my illustration. How would you like to tell me if I was able to connect them with each other?

Prayers
I will rest now... and I will ask you if you can-to have at least a minute of silence for my countrymen. You might have read by now that so many of them died in a landslide. Nature backfiring-I really don't know!- but who's to blame and accept that it was their fault why those thousands of people died. It also happened somewhere in the same area some years ago, and I cannot forget the pictures of stiff bodies of dead adults and children.
Song
This week topic is Song and I am sure it would be illustrated in more ways than one especially with the wide range of wonderful, talented artists joining IF. I thought, it can also be the Song Dynasty in China or just any song.
Here's something for you to know - the chinese people and their culture, music and food have been a part of my growing years. I have very close chinese friends and I can say that they are very loyal, fun to be with and honest. They were the ones who have exposed me in watching chinese films and learned to like Jackie Chan. I even had a boyfriend who looks like him especially when he was still younger.(LOL)
Well, my idea for this illustration is about a little chinese girl-singing twinkle twinkle little star to her siamese cat in their garden one summer everning. You can hear the chinese version here.

A belated Happy Birthday to Aravis
I came across Defining David's site and saw his post regarding the birthday of Aravis(Exploring Aravis) last January 12. Imagine, I have missed that one. I cannot access her site until now--- for more than a month already for reasons that I am still trying to find out. Isay Wedding Collection 2006

I have decided to launch it today and not in the month of January because most people doesn't get married in January for so many reasons, and one of them is following a saying (believer or not-they follow just to be safe) that marrying on the first month of the year will end up in a divorce and another wedding takes place after that etc;.
I wanted also to share with you all --that I have enjoyed doing all these illustrations. What do you think of them?
