Depth (#2)

I can’t stop drawing today….I am also musically inclined since last week, I don’t know why. I love watching bands –playing jazz, pop, rock etc. and I always listen closely to the drummer. I like the sounds of the drum and it was an earlier dream to play them. So, I decided that I will draw myself carrying this drum and playing and humming and singing while walking in the grass and looking at the depths of the ocean. You can say that this week's topic is very meaningful to me because, it has always gave me a positive attitude towards life in which in a way has a connection with God's love and about my faith. I am also sharing with you the lyrics of Proclaim by a religious rock band called worship the day. I have the Mp3 version but unfortunately, blogger is still working on how to include sound and I can’t remember now which site have I downloaded it from-that is why I cannot create the link-well maybe, later on.

PROCLAIM by Worship the day

From the ends of the earth to the depths of the valley
To the highest mountain and I will proclaim
To the ends of time to the hour I die
To the heights of heaven and I will proclaim

I give you glory that’s fit for your name
And I give you honor that’s fit for a king----
And I will proclaim to the ends of the earth and
I will sing of your matchless works
And I will always love your name
And yes I----------- will proclaim.

How interesting that I came here just as I finished my practice tonight on my african Djembe drum. I started taking lessons last month and am loving it. My husband does not complain and when 10 or 12 drummers come here once a week to practice...he still does not complain.
Drumming is wonderful, spritual, good exercise and very good for your mind. I like your painting with the drum Isay, I can almost hear the singing.

ginger, what a coincidence really. i have listened to a lot of music with drums while doing the illustration. i believe you-drumming can have a very nice soothing effect if properly used.

i am glad you like it, too Kymberlee.

thanks to both of you and have a nice weekend!

I have a small drum, with fish engravings, possibly from asia. Sometimes I make it sound and that transports to other places and ancestral cultures. Very nice illos on this week topic!

Isay, your drawing keep getting more and more wonderful. You seem to have a wealth of inspiration stored up and each time you draw there comes a new treasure. These "depth" illos are so different from each, too...both lovely, one soft and gentle, the other strong and vibrant. It's a double treat this week!
