Spring

I love tulips a lot and I have a collection of tulips pictures from our garden. Here you can find the different tulips that I have tried drawing with colored pencils, water color, acrylic(this one is for autumn!) and digital collage. It is about time that we should celebrate the season of Spring! There's an old song hanging on my head about springtime. Would you care to share if you can remember any?

By the way, I have received a beautiful gift from Miragee today - A set of postcards and about her coming art exhibition in Taipei. This is another reason to celebrate! So many artists are starting to bloom this year! Thousand thanks and congratulations my friend! I like them a lot! I'll share more about it later.

Happy Birthday Myla Angelica

Allow me to introduce to you my bestfriend and she is celebrating her birthday today.

I like the lyrics of this song, I think someone else have sung this song before but this is the only one I can locate with a music so here it goes....
Click here for the music. and complete lyrics.

COLOUR EVERYWHERE
Christian Bautista

I used to see in black and white
Never something in between Waitin' on the love of my life To come into my dreams Everything in shades of gray Never any blues or greens I needed someone else to turn to Someone who could help me learn to see All the beauty that was waiting for me You...you put the blue back in the sky

You put the rainbow in my eyes The silver lining in my prayers And now there's colour everywhere You put the red back in the rules Just when I needed it the most You came along to show you care And now there's colour everywhere

My life was so predictable Never any mystery But ever since you shined the light All of that is history Now I have a hand to hold And a reason to believe There's something in my life worth living for I was hanging 'round just wishing on a star To put the happiness back in my heart and ..............

Note: I just want to try on her my wedding gown design. She and her significant other have been planning for their wedding day in the near future.

Flash back...warm nights

I got inspired this evening and started this illustration right away after listening to the music. I'm so satisfied with the finished product.

One of the best song that I never get tired listening over and over from the first time I have heard it playing over the radio was a song in the 80's by Cindy Lauper. Even the fast version was really nice. You can hear the mp3 here but it is not complete. How about you-would you like to share a favorite song you like listening over and over and over again?

Time After Time

Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick,
And think of you
Caught up in circles confusion--
Is nothing new
Flashback--warm nights--
Almost left behind
Suitcases of memories,
Time after--
Sometimes you picture me--
I'm walking too far ahead
You're calling to me,
I can't hear
What you've said--
Then you say--go slow--I fall behind--
The second hand unwinds

Chorus:
If you're lost you can look--and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you--I'll be waiting
Time after time

After my picture fades and darkness has
Turned to gray
Watching through windows--you're wondering
If I'm OK
Secrets stolen from deep inside
The drum beats out of time--

Chorus:
If you're lost...
You said go slow--I fall behind
The second hand unwinds--

Chorus:
If you're lost......
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time

reflection

I really had fun doing this illustration. A bit hard and took me a while but I liked how it turned out. This week's topic for Inspire me Thursday is monochromatic. I might do this with paint later on when I get to buy them at the end of the month.

Digital collage.

Monsters

I have 2 younger sisters with 1 year difference in our ages. We were always together and we like to play with my 3 younger cousins(2 girls and 1 boy) in their big house. It was just across the street so, my mother allowed us because she didn't want us to play with boys in the neighborhood and she could also see us from the window while we were playing. Our three cousins have adjacent beds in a very big and long room. Usually, they would invite us for dinner so we can play longer until 8 pm. One favorite game we like to play was creating stories about them going to sleep and later on, the three of us bigger than them would play as monsters and would haunt them in their sleep. When we are already near the beds with our monster faces(sometimes with masks) and claws and monster voices-they will be awaken and get up from the bed and run while we followed them around. We enjoyed it a lot because there was a long way to run and it was easy to catch them. We only skipped some days when one of my cousin had lost her voice because of too much shouting and then we were back with both our parents permission. Night after night for as long as I can remember-we never get tired playing that game.

I enjoyed doing this illustration-It brings back the good times when I was little.
I have done some digital sketches using the brush tool in photoshop cs2, colored it and later used the artistic filter and here you can find the monsters I have created.

Ram and Rat

Here are the two emblems of my signs- a ram and a rat anyway-I have adorned the two of them with my favorite colors.

I had to change this to a shorter post

Revelation time-today is my birthday.

I have met two people in the past who were born today-to you Agie and James wherever you are-I pray for good health for both of you. And to Reese Whitherspoon who have become a favorite actress of mine because of her excellent portrayal as June in Walk in the line-more power to you and God bless your family(who knows-she might read this). And to the kind, sweet, beautiful and dedicated Camillian Sister named Sr. Laureta from Italy - who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow, the 23rd I am wishing you all the best for your birthday and I will pray for your good health, more courage and success to all the apostolates and projects of helping the sick and poor that you have been doing.

looking through her eyes....

If only her eyes can tell everything.....What could it be? This is my entry for Inspire me thursday for the topic: think BIG. My patience was tested here (just imagine the length of line strokes that I did and covering the whole space-but boy, did I enjoyed the process) because I have used colored pencils since I ran out of paint and my schedule to buy new ones is still due at the end of the month. I just finished this today in between eating warm hot beef noodles soup(s). Kindly click the image to enlarge.

Additional-I had let it stand in a chair and took a picture of it and enhanced the texture in Photoshop.

hearts that binds

I forgot about St. Patricks day yesterday although I have started an illustration about clover. I was lead to this illustration-it has no meaning whatsover, maybe subconsciously there was but I didn't know. I would be posting a lot in the days to come and watch out for them. Please feel free to share your comments. I am singing "smile though your heart is aching....."

feet

Remember my tattoo on my foot last week? Anyway, I have already made the elephant as one of my trademark and here is my first product-isay socks on my feet. Who else should I try it on first but my feet. This is a drawing of my feet which I did while sitting on my bed.

This second drawing I have posted here last year and I enhanced a bit and colored it in Photoshop CS2.

The following are pictures of my right and left feet wearing my cinderella sandals.

A lot of feet isn't it? Do you think I will post another entry? I have other friday challenges and you can find them by clicking on the names on the right side(My two other blogs). Watch out for more posts in the days to come I am in a drawing mood.

I really didn't know that being sad can be a lot of fun sometimes.

Shelter from storm

Medium: acrylic on canvas
Size: 50 x 50 cm
Title: Shelter from Storm

Have you ever tried painting while your tears keeps falling? I have done this painting some nights ago when I was really feeling so bad-I have cried so hard until my throat hurts and had a hard time breathing. I was able to breathe normal again after I have changed my position from sitting down to standing straight, clean my nose and smelled some chinese balm while the crying continued. One weakness I have is that when I start crying, it takes time for me to stop and funny thing is I also cry in front of the mirror sometimes. (I am starting a painting about that nowadays.) Although, I have cried only during the roughest times in my life, I can say that it has helped me felt a little better afterwards.

Actually, when I have started drawing again last year, I realized that each of my drawings and paintings tells a lot about how I feel. I am selling this painting right away if I can. It is entitled shelter from the storm-please feel free to say something if you have any thing to say about it.

Tattoo

Before anything else-I wanted to apologize for not answering all of the comments you have left for my posts. I am just so tired nowadays instead, I have tried visiting all your blogs because I really enjoy reading your posts and leave some comments, too and if I still have the time answer the question you have left in my comment box.

Anyway, this week's topic is tattoo. I am not sure if I'll have the courage to have a tattoo in any part of my body but here, in my illustration I have put it in my left foot. I have chosen an elephant because I like the sound they make and the fact that I can ride on them. I did, when I had my vacation in Hua Hin, Thailand. That was really so much fun.

Inspire me Thursday! Five Senses

This week's challenge for Inspire me thursday involves the five senses. My illustration is rather a mixture of how I am feeling nowadays and yes, I have in some ways used all the five senses. Long story how I have been feeling, and I am just wondering if some of you have any ideas about what I have created and why the word natural was there.

Mother butterfly

I begun my relationship with a brown butterfly when my mother died. On the first night of the wake, out of my misery I terribly asked her to show herself again to me while I was lying in bed at home. It was some kind of feeling that I was thinking she might still be around for some hours and was looking at us. On my pillow was a big close up picture of her which I hugged while closing my eyes and talking to her. Then suddenly out of nowhere a brown butterfly appeared in my room. The window and door was closed and I was wondering where it could come from. It is a brown butterfly and it keeps flying around me. Suddenly, I thought it was my mother who's trying to calm me down. I have seen the same butterfly everyday until the day we buried her. A brown butterfly became a symbolic memory of my mother especially when I needed to talk to her or when something was wrong with my father or everytime I dreamt of her, and or whenever I have problems or I am in trouble-it never failed to appear.........

Insect

Why this fly loves to land and stay on a carabao's body many times on his face and back and lips. The fly must be in love with the carabao or maybe the carabao smells good or bad.

The second illustration is about a boy riding in his carabao at early dawn to plow the fields.

Anyway, you can find out what a carabao is by clicking here.

These are two versions of the illustrations I have made some months ago. Kindly click the images to enlarge.
